On Wednesday, her Majesty Queen Rania, paid a visit to the Khawla Bint Al Azwar Society in Zarqa, during which she praised the society’s commitment to self-sustaining social and economic development.  The community center, Khawla bint Al Azwar (KbA), a center for women, run by women, was established in 2004 with Questscope’s support. The center gives a second chance to young girls who have dropped out of school by offering Informal/Non-Formal Education Programs and vocational training. 

 

On May 30, 2011, the UNESCO Office in Amman, Jordan invited representatives from Questscope to the regional launch of the “Education for All Global Monitoring Report – 2011.”  At the launch, UNESCO presented a video that had been filmed to show the educational situation in three different countries.   Mr. Jawad Al Gousous, Development Director for Regional Programs for Questscope, presented the role and importance of participatory qualitative research in identifying the issues of urban poverty at the Expert Group Meeting on “Regional Urban Poverty” at the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in Beirut, Lebanon, from 23-24 May, 2011.
