Mr. Jawad Al Gousous, Development Director for Regional Programs for Questscope, presented the role and importance of participatory qualitative research in identifying the issues of urban poverty at the Expert Group Meeting on “Regional Urban Poverty” at the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in Beirut, Lebanon, from 23-24 May, 2011.

 

Experts from the region attended as representatives of development departments, poverty alleviation programs, regional and international organizations and social service organizations from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Morocco, Yemen, Mauritania, Syria and Palestine.
